ARCHITECT'S ANGEL - Enterprise Design for UC Solutions
  Overview:

"I need to take my career to new heights - I want to be the brain behind these ultimate designs!"

Architect's Angel™ is a highly technical course focusing on the design and creation of converged network solutions based on customer requirements. If you ever wondered what it would take to create a truly global design that is scalable, robust and flawless in nature - then this class is likely to inspire you!

Creating a solution is more than just reading a few guides and installing some software, there are many facets to a great design and naturally some are raw technical requirements - but arguably one of the most prolific aspects of good design architecture is the methodology of establishing the requirements correctly and producing the solution that not only meets, but exceeds expectations

It is a simple fact, good technical designs win new business, inspire confidence with the customer and further establish the partner as a leader in Unified Communications!

Duration:

The course duration is 5 days 9am – 5pm and runs once every 6 months. Intended audience: This course is designed for the commercial sector, consultants, partners and resellers, but there are no restrictions on who can attend. It is ideal for pre sales architects and network designers who need to either gain, or migrate into the field of telecoms design for the enterprise environment.

Intended Audience:

Candidates who have worked with Voice technologies in the field, or architects who spend considerable time working with RFP/RTT/Design processes will greatly benefit from this class.

A good understanding of Voice/telecom technologies and their interactions are essential in order to fully benefit from this class, including students who have studied the Cisco Voice certification track, as the basic principles of network and telecom, IPT and basic configuration/operation shall be considered as assumed knowledge.

Course Content & Structure:

The class is delivered over 5 days and offers detailed design models, customer scenarios and best practice methodologies for students to learn from. Via interactive workshops, students will gain invaluable insight as to what and how to extract the right information from the customer, and when to trust this or investigate independently.

With a 60/40% split between technical and methodology respectively, Architect's Angel is a thought provoking class where (like reality) 'one shoe does not fit all' - as a result the topics addressed are diverse and extremely practical in nature:

  • Deep architectural understanding of the Cisco converged network technology product suite, their dependencies, interactions, integration options and deployment models.
  • How to interpret the customer requirements and effectively translate those requirements into an optimum solution that is scalable, supportable and cost effective.
  • The various product lines, their application and implementation requirements.
  • How to correctly scale a solution based on organisation size and future growth, whilst considering the impact to cost and budget.
  • Understanding redundancy design and where and when it becomes essential in contrast to the financial trade-off.
  • How to create successful engineering and implementation documentation for field deployment.
  • Sample templates and industry proven models to save time in creating solutions for customers at short notice, without investing too much time and effort until the opportunity is qualified by the sales team.
  • Network capacity requirements, benchmarking and research requirements (the investigative phase).

This class provides individuals who are tasked with the creation of solutions for customers with a broad technology overview, whilst deep diving into the common areas that are typically more challenging. Students will complete the course with a very practical approach to Cisco UC architecture and design based on industry best practices and a variety of proven efficiency techniques to assist one in mitigating design errors whilst delivering and exceeding customer requirements. The class methodology is based on deep theoretical lectures, followed through with practical exposure wherever possible, such as global dial plan design configurations and redundancy configurations - their impact and what you can expect to see at the customer site once deployed.
