Engineer Essentials™ covers a broad spectrum of technologies, platforms and industry based best practices and methodologies for successfully installing, supporting and troubleshooting Cisco Voice technologies. Whilst the course focuses on Voice, most of the concepts can be applied to other technology suites
Students will spend much of the 5 days, performing a plethora of common tasks in demand from the Telecom industry, this includes but limited to:
- Hands on experience in stripping down, Voice servers, gateways and associated peripherals
- Installations of Voice applications on MCS servers, such as Cisco Callmanager and Unity
- Upgrades and migrations of Voice applications, including industry best practices such as backup practices that mitigate irreversible data loss
- Voice network device installation and upgrades, including business best practices such as change management windows and stakeholder reviews
- Students will become comfortable with a very wide variety of platforms, appliances and systems, from the hardware to the operating systems – to the actual applications themselves!
- Students will become familiar with troubleshooting techniques that have been developed in the industry as proven methodologies for fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
Open lab sessions will permit the class to deep dive into areas and challenges that they personally face in the working environment or customer environment, with plenty of opportunity to discuss with other professionals also, including subjects such as strategy, approach, mitigating risk and how to minimise your company liability whilst on a customer site.
This is the ultimate "get up and do it" class and a simple must for all consultants, field technicians and support personnel working with service providers, system integrators and the like - or simply those who are keen to demonstrate more than a certification at the next 'big interview'
